Amsterdam Art Room’s opening exhibition presents the work of Jan Fabre. The artist, being a visual artist, theare maker and autor is a marker for future activities of the new art space in Amsterdam.
The series made between 2010 & 2013 is part of Jan Fabre’s reflections on Belgium’s colonial history, a frequently recurring theme in Fabre’s work since his permanent installation in the Royal Palace of Brussel, Heaven of Delight (2002), created with more than one million wing-cases of the jewel beetle.
